Studio Pangaea as a brand reflects the efforts of completing narratives through crafted pieces. The brand showcased for the first time in London Design Festival, a series of crafted jewellery which are the outcomes of an action research process of juxtaposed materials to work with: metal as a hard yet reliable component; textiles and antique laces which are soft and delicate. The jewellery which will be presented during the festival are made in İstanbul. They are physically and conceptually framed patterns of delicate embroideries, brought back to life as wearables embedded with their stories and voices of those who crafted them.
The name Pangaea is derived from the Ancient Greek words pan (πᾶν), meaning "all, entire, whole," and Gaia (Γαῖα), meaning "Mother Earth" or "land."
As a designer and researcher with a passion for exploring the connections between tradition and innovation. My journey through the global creative industries led me to establish Studio Pangaea*, a space where creativity, collaboration, and cultural heritage come together in meaningful ways.
Inspired by the concept of Pangaea—a symbol of unity and the Earth—we bring together diverse talents, techniques, and materials to craft unique designs that honour both history and innovation. At Studio Pangaea, we believe in the power of reimagining stories, materials, and traditions. We love the idea of reimagining these elements, breathing new life into them, and sharing them with others.
